Purpose is powerFULL!!!

Purpose is powerFULL!!!

A lot of people want to know their life purpose… “What was I created for? Or to do?”  One thing to keep in mind is Romans 8:28 NLT:

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

So as we grow in our love for God, and in our understanding of the characteristics of God’s love, we will better understand how “all things work together for good” – the good, the bad, and the ugly can all work together for good.

Here is an acronym that I am seeing this morning (I didn’t get this out of a book, it was ringing in my head, so I wrote it down):

P.U.R.P.O.S.E.

P – passionate
U – unified
R – revived
P – patient
O – offensive
S – salvation
E – eternity – empowered

It is when we become passionate about our love relationship with God, unified with Him, empowered by Him, that we receive the perpetual reviving to produce patience in all that we endure.  We are to be offensive against the enemy and the forces of darkness, yet not be an offense to the brotherhood of believers.  With all of this said, we can share salvation with non-believers and strengthen fellow believers as we enlarge those that will make it to eternity in the love of God…

Be blessed in 2012, choose to live life on P.U.R.P.O.S.E.

A Portion...

Some may be wondering where the name of the ministry came from?
A Portion Ministries
Let me give a quick history and share this portion of my testimony (Rev 12:11).

The theme scripture for "A Portion" is Proverbs 31:15 She also rises while it is yet night, and provides food for her household, and a portion for her maidservants.

Back in 1999 I used to get up early in the morning with a hunger to know God, not church or religion, but God.  This was before the internet was so accessible, so I would spread my books out on my kitchen table and diligently seek to know God and His word.  On the flip side, to be able to keep such a busy schedule, I would cook dinner in the morning while there in the kitchen.  It was about a year later when one of the people I studied with was sitting there and saw this concept: that since I get up in the morning digging out the truths in the word of God and sharing with them, this would be a good ministry name.  I received a witness within my spirit that this was to be the name of what He was empowering me to do.  Now 9 years later, it is truly making sense.

Be encouraged...

I once had a friend that became blind.  He was living wild on the world's side and got caught up in someplace he knew he should not have been.  At first he went through depression and suicidal thoughts wondering why he was allowed to live in complete darkness.  I'm not sure who introduced him to the Light of the world, but his testimony is "I had to lose my sight to gain my sight".  What is our excuse? We have our sight, hearing, activity of our limbs, yet we have not sight?  Let this not be our testimony... God wants to customize our testimony.  We have all been through some situations, not all from sin, but just life occurring, and the Lord delivered us mightily.  Lets not give the credit to anyone else...

As I was listening to Pastor C's prayer call this morning about giving birth spiritually and naturally, I had this same testimony of my friend, I had to lose my natural womb to truly be spiritually pregnant.  I gave natural birth only twice, but the spiritual birthings are innumerable - especially since that surgery 2 years ago this month.

Take a moment and recount all the things that you had to lose to gain the true purposes of God for your life?  The devil meant it for evil, to take you out - but God!!!! He has the ability to take the mess and transform it into a Message of hope, to take the trials and test of life and transform it into great Testimonies of His Life.

As my dear friend and sister in Christ Joann found out some 20 years later - the devil had lied to her and told her God was trying to kill her, when really it was the devil doing that - God was protecting her and sustaining her all along.  So if you must listen to the lies of the enemy, just believe the opposite of what he is saying, because the opposite of a lie is the truth - and it is the truth of the word of God that brings freedom & liberty.

Each human being with breath in the body still is Created2Produce!  No matter who you are, or where you've been, or what you have done - the love of God is for you, not against you (See Romans 8:35-39).  Be blessed!

True Love

So much on my mind right now about love... Kem has a song titled "true love" - and I like the hook (which happens to be a biblical principle) "you will reap, what you sow, so be true wherever you go.  You will have what you say, thats the way that true love is made"

So to experience true love, we need to watch what is in our heart and coming out of our mouth.  We can frame our world by the words that come out of our mouth - they have creative power!  So, are your words framing the loving environment you seek?  If not, do a heart check and be mindful of what you are sowing...because you will receive a harvest of the words you speak, good or bad.

On this day that society celebrates love, I choose to continue in who I am and that is to share love with everyone the Lord sends my way - the good, the bad, the ugly - to walk in love daily, as an epistle of the Love of God at work in a person's life.  Have a blessed day and know that I love you, but more importantly, God loves you and He IS LOVE!

this was just ringing in my heart, so I had to share it...pass it on

Holiday Depression

Hello Family – I just wanted to share one of my daily devotionals.  With this being the holiday season, the depression attacks come more often…but keep in mind that we celebrate the birth/ death/ resurrection of Jesus Christ 365 days per year, and we should be a giving people all year long – so we don’t get caught up into the holiday stress that the world creates.  My true friends know that this is how I live year round.  So have a blessed week…

December 20th - God Calling devotional:
Fight fear as you would fight a plague.  Fight it in My name…Fear, even the smallest fear, is the hacking at the cords of Love that bind you to Me.
However small the impression, in time those cords will wear thin, and then one disappointment, or shock, and they snap.  But for the little fears the cords of Love would have held.
Fight fear.
Depression is a state of fear.  Fight that too.  Fight.  Fight.  Depression is the impression left by fear.  Fight and conquer, and oh! for Love of Me, for the sake of My tender, never-failing Love of you, fight and love and win.

My bible promise for today:  Psalm 64:1 “Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.”

My thoughts:  thank You Lord for continually exposing the plans/tricks of the enemy…

Be ready for battle...

I just wanted to share a text with my friends and loved ones that will help us be ready for facing all that is going on in the world today...have a blessed day.

Ephesians 6 (Message Bible)
A Fight to the Finish
10-12And that about wraps it up. God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no afternoon athletic contest that we'll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels.
13-18Be prepared. You're up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it's all over but the shouting you'll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You'll need them throughout your life. God's Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other's spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.

Grace - Amazing or Perverted???

God's grace is not a license to sin...truly understanding grace, its costs (that it is a free gift to us, yet it bankrupt heaven momentarily), when we truly get this - it will strengthen us to abstain from sin and not pervert grace.  Because if you truly understand the many sides of grace, you wouldn't mis-use it.

Selah - pause and calmly think on that.  I mean meditate on the grace of God.  I challenge you to study for yourself what the grace of God is all about - the unmerited favor - the ability to do what He has given us to do - His ability resident in us - I mean study that out and it will go from being something that is so commonly perverted, to something that we truly see as AMAZING!

God's love is sooooo amazing that if I were to post a blog every minute, it still could not explain it - but I challenge you to seek Him for yourself, and a better understanding of grace...

Love always,
~Paulette~
